Integrating FlutterFlow with Google Analytics

This tutorial will walk you through integrating Google Analytics with FlutterFlow. Google Analytics provides insights into app usage and user engagement. This integration will allow you to view various metrics directly from your FlutterFlow project including user activity on screens, button clicks, and more.

Step 1: Enable Google Analytics

First and foremost, you need to enable Google Analytics for your Firebase project.

• Navigate to the Firebase Console at console.firebase.google.com.
• Select your project, then go to the left-hand menu bar and click on Analytics.
• On the next page, select the Enable Google Analytics for this project checkbox.

You are now in the Google Analytics section of your Firebase project.

Step 2: Link Google Analytics to your Firebase Project

Now, it's time to link Google Analytics to your Firebase project.

• Click on Link to Google Analytics.
• You will be prompted to choose an account. Select your Google Analytics account from the dropdown, or create a new account.
• Once your account is selected, click on the Next button.

You have now linked Google Analytics to your Firebase project.

Step 3: Setup Google Analytics

Next, we'll configure Google Analytics for your project.

• On your Firebase project dashboard, click on Setup Google Analytics, then select your preferred data-sharing settings.
• Add your project’s name in the Set up your Analytics property.
• Click on the Create Property button.

Within a few moments, Google Analytics will be initialized and ready to use in your Firebase project.

Step 4: Get the Google-Services.json File

You will need the google-services.json file for your Firebase project. This file contains necessary credentials for your Firebase project to communicate with Google Analytics.

• Navigate to your Firebase project settings by clicking the gear icon next to the Project Overview in the side menu.
• Select the General tab.
• Scroll down to the Your Apps section and select your app.
• Click on the google-services.json button to download the file.

You will need this file soon, so keep it handy.

Step 5: Integrate Google Analytics with FlutterFlow

Now, it's time to integrate Google Analytics with your FlutterFlow project.

• In FlutterFlow, navigate to the project where you want to integrate Google Analytics.
• Click on the settings icon on the left-hand side.
• Scroll down to the Services & APIs section.
• Flip the switch beside Google Analytics to On.
• Here, you will be prompted to upload your google-services.json file. Click on Upload File, then locate and select the google-services.json file you downloaded earlier.

You have now integrated Google Analytics with your FlutterFlow project.

Step 6: Confirm Google Analytics Integration

Let's confirm that Google Analytics has been correctly integrated with your FlutterFlow project.

• Go back to your Firebase console and select the Analytics section from the left-hand menu.
• You should now see data from your FlutterFlow app being sent and displayed in Google Analytics.
• Feel free to explore the different sections in Google Analytics to understand the kind of data it provides for analysis.
